Today on the Dr. Oz Show, Dr. Oz discussed how important clean water is for maintaining good health. In the segment, he suggests asking for a municipal water test report from your local water company if you have city water and notes the importance of some of the values of contaminants listed on a sample of one. The contaminants in water from city water companies are required to meet certain standards but the report does provide interesting and useful information. It is worth the effort to request it from the local water company. In addition, Dr. Oz also recommends purchasing a home water test that may identify contaminants that may have gotten in the water after it leaves city facilities. These kits are helpful also for testing water quality from private wells. Of course, if you suspect problems with your drinking water, call and discuss it with the local health department. They may need to do more in-depth testing.
