One task for my day was to attempt to clean out the dryer vents in addition to the dryer lint trap. Looks like I need a dryer cleaning kit to do the job properly! Poorly maintained dryer lint traps, vents and hoses are a fire hazards that can lead to property damage and death. According to one source clothes dryer fires account for over 15,000 structure fires, 15 deaths and 400 injuries annually. It can also be a source for allergans....give off odors and particulates. An important note with cooler weather coming, a dryer vent is a favorite place for "little critters" to hang out! (Hint: I used gloves!)
A dryer cleaning kit is more effective to clean the trap, hose and vent. Read instructions before use.
A simple dryer lint brush will help clean the lint residue from the trap.
